KAGU9, Inc. - Global Commerce the Smart Way
Business-to-Business Design for Export, Import, and International Distribution Company, Kagu9
Kagu9’s management approached us with a request to design and develop a memorable logo to be placed on all correspondence, packaging, and for other miscellaneous uses. They also requested a website geared towards garnering business; website content; a recognizable business card; letterhead for potential customers, current customers, and for general correspondence; and presentation templates for both the leading document processing and presentation software. Kagu9 exclusively provides business-to-business services and Kagu9’s management was adamant that their media reflected both the professionalism of their company and staff, and the modern-startup feel the company
At Affarei we ask our clients to start with a color scheme, and then we turn directly to the logo, which is always the first step, because it invariably brands the company in the minds of the target audience. A good logo is unique and memorable and conveys the entity’s mood. When Kagu9’s management asked us to begin preparations, they mentioned that they intended to trademark the logo. With that in mind, we worked closely with Kagu9’s lawyers to ensure that the logo carried the proper characteristics and ensured that it could uniquely be trademarked.
A “Kagu” is an endangered flightless bird with its origins in New Caledonia. As we worked on the logo, we implemented what we knew about the company and their vision, and after several rounds of revisions, we came up with a bird’s head, which is facing the right side of a half circle. We strategically placed the name of the company in the half circle, and rounded the circle off with Kagu9’s tagline, “Global Commerce the Smart Way.”
Kagu9's team stressed that their website was the cornerstone of their business; they explained that it would be what their clients looked to in order to gauge the company’s legitimacy. With the importance of their website firmly in our minds, we asked Kagu9’s management to provide us with some guidance and explain what aspects of websites they deemed attractive, unattractive, and mandatory. After numerous discussions with Kagu9’s team, we came up with a design that is business-to-business oriented and navigation friendly.
The website has a traditional header, paired with a traditional footer, and a few subtle and Kagu9 specific attributes. The website integrates the leading social media buttons and well-positioned contact information.
Kagu9’s team is an active set of professionals, and needed business cards, letterhead for various purposes, and presentation templates for client proposals and for other purposes. With that being said, we worked closely with management, helping them figure out what their business objectives were, and then designed each piece of business media to further their goals.
At the end of the project, Kagu9 had unique business cards that reflected their culture, three different types of letterhead for numerous purposes, and presentation templates for both the leading document processing and presentation software.
